What I would do if I won Publisher’s Clearing House

All of us have a dream like I am writing about today… most of them are about the lottery instead of Publisher Clearing House or a mysterious family member who dies and leaves a large estate to you. It’s all day dreaming of course because the odds of winning the lottery, PCH, or an unknown inheritance coming our way are heavily stacked against most people. However, I like to dream and plan for the day that might happen as a way to keep my spirits up. Today, I am going to share my plans with all of you.

The first thing on my list that I am going to do when I win is to get my mother and I into a better place to live. No, not a HUGE lavish house that would make most people stand in awe. Just something that we can afford that is big enough for us and the pets. There are actually two ways we have talked about doing this. Either buying a condo or small home that already exists or buying some land to build brand new custom homes. My mom would love to have her own one bedroom place so that she can have her own space. I would want a one bedroom as well but I would also need a larger room to have a home gym. I would also want a endless pool swim spa so that I could relax and do easy on the body cardio.

Some of the custom build homes are actually pretty neat looking. Here is a URL list of examples that I have put in my dream list for either myself or my mom. They are all easily altered if needs be by a professional of course. It is the look and size that we would be going for.

One Bedroom Cottage Escape

One Bedroom, One Bathroom Farm House

Tiny 2 Bed Modern House

The other thing that I would love to be able to do would only happen if I won the weekly prize. I want to start a foundation or charity that would help the homeless and disabled. It’s an idea that I have been kicking around in my head for years. In fact the government could do it if they wanted to but just don’t for one reason or another.

You get land that is zoned for multiple homes to be built and you build tiny or small homes on the site. Then you lease the homes to someone that is disabled or homeless. Part of the agreement is that they pay a certain amount every month based on current or future income plus establish an HOA that will cover trash pick up, outside maintenance, dog park, the sidewalks, road into the neighborhood, etc. The only rule for qualifying to lease one of the homes would be about addiction. Anyone addicted to anything would have to go into a program and then attend a support group to help keep sober. This is because a lot of the homeless at least where I live are addicted to drugs, gambling, or alcohol. If they failed to do so any money paid into the lease would be kept and they would be asked to vacate the property. The money they paid into the lease would be used to update or restore the vacated property and would then be leased to someone new. They would also be put on a ban list for a minimum of two years. The length of time would depend on how messed up the property is, length of time leasing, etc.

Once the lease is paid in full for the cost of building the home and buying the land they would be given the option to own the deed for the home or they could ask for the money paid in minus the cost of updating and restoring the home back in cash so that they could use it as a down payment on a different house, etc. However, that choice would also have them put on a list that would get them an auto decline on another home in the foundation or charity program for a minimum of five to ten years. This is to help discourage abuse of the program and it’s goals.

Once all the homes in a neighborhood are done being leased the foundation/charity would pull their support and allow the home owners to decide what they want to continue doing with their properties before buying more land and starting a new neighborhood. If the foundation/charity has a lot of money growth due to investments or donations then multiple neighborhoods could be established at the same time or staggered so that resources aren’t pulled too much at any one time.

You can put roughly 54 homes on one acre of land. If you take into account roads, sidewalks, etc. you can fit 45 to 48. The homes would be 800 sqft or less. You can put 2 to 3 bedrooms in a 800 sqft home easily with 1 to 2 bathrooms. That is plenty of space for a family of 3-4. With those type of homes mixed in with the 1 to 2 bedroom homes we would see a lot of homeless and fixed income disabled people getting a chance at the American Dream. I also see each of those homes having enclosed patios with drains for easy clean up. Not backyards as there will be a dog park/small park in the neighborhood so their really is no need for a true backyard. But an enclosed patio with a drain would allow those that can’t or don’t want to take their dog to the park a way to have the pets house trained with easy clean up. Or patio gardens, or a place to have small BBQ parties with friends in the privacy of their own place.

It also makes more sense than continuing to hand money over to management companies for real estate moguls with rent supplement support (section 8 in California), rent control, or any of the other ways that government has tried and failed to help the homeless and low income residents in most places that I have seen. It would also I think help with neighborhood upkeep because when people own instead of rent they tend to keep better care of things and have pride in themselves.

This idea could even be used for old motels/hotels and apartment buildings. Buy an apartment building, update and restore the building/units giving the current residents 60 day notices and their security deposits to help with moving, then start leasing the units, establish an HOA for maintenance, roofing, etc. Then when all the units are paid for moving on to a different building.

Review: Upload Season 1 & 2 (Spoilers for a couple of scenes in S2)

I started watching Upload late. As in just a month or so ago so I didn’t have to wait long for the second season at all. It is a really great show that has a formula that I love. They mix serious drama with a lot of comedy to make this actual entertainment without making people who watch it depressed or angry for too long. It also has a lot of different messages that people can take from it. They don’t pull punches from any social or political side and crack some crazy jokes that make me laugh in actual surprised laughter that rarely happens anymore with TV shows.

Season One really establishes the world that Nathan Brown and Nora live in as well as the other characters in it. The real world and the digital world both. There is some nudity, language, and such so I wouldn’t advise that anyone under at least sixteen watch the show unless their parents think they are mature enough. However, everything is within the context of the story and not really gratuitous. Though I have read some reviews where people were upset over the nudity and sex scenes which is silly because they give a warning and a rating for the show. The romance plot-line is great and really sucked me in. I’m a sucker for a good romance story where people take the time to learn and grow into their ultimate selves and end up completing each other in unexpected ways. If you like rom-coms, movies like Idiocracy, and light mysteries then this show has something for you.

Season two started out kind of slow for me and some of the plot lines grated on my nerves, but, as the new story arc unfolded in each episode I started understanding where they were headed. People in the reviews are screaming that the show has gone woke. I just think that they don’t understand the sarcastic comedy that the show is full of. A lot of the episodes this season were full of messages that I saw growing up about helping the little guy if you can, etc. Yes, they say a few things that could be grating on super uptight people but I think they are blowing it out of proportion.

Spoiler Starts Here:

The digital world that Nathan lives in starts offering digital babies. In one scene there is an advertisement saying that either partner can carry with a pregnant man in the ad. To me that was funny! Not because of the whole ‘trans-male’ pregnancy thing that is debated about in real life BUT because in digital worlds it is completely possible for that to happen! What made the scene even more of a comedic moment was that Nathan was basically told that when his water broke it would come out of his anus which anyone that knows about child birth would mean the baby would come out of there as well. The look on the characters face was amazingly hilarious and the fact that the doctor and Ingrid just acted like this was completely okay was funny as hell. In a digital world all of it would actually be possible. Heck, you could most likely ask to do the pregnancy and then skip labor and delivery altogether. Though in Lakeview that would most likely cost a fortune. LMAO! In another earlier scene when Ingrid gets a digital AI baby as a test case to see if she could be a good mother she asks if it is a boy and is told that it appears to be so but they will decide when they get older. While this is an uncomfortable thing for a lot of people to hear it is the truth for a portion of the population and in that scene the one line isn’t focused on and is actually just brushed over to the next part of dialogue and the start of the comedy. Even when the AI baby grows up it doesn’t do any trans anything. The kid grows up seemingly as a boy and even becomes a rude punk rocker in his teens. *rolls eyes* I again really think that people are being overly sensitive.

The new story arc can be read from a lot of different perspectives because it deals with an assumption by Nathan and Nora that a group of corrupt rich people are going to use free uploading as a way to rig presidential elections. People have to remember that things aren’t always as they appear in this show! For a long time it looked like Nathan was murder by his business partner when they weren’t, etc. Let the story unfold people and remind yourselves that all this is exaggerated COMEDY for the most part!

Life Update: 03-11-2022

A month or two back I decided to stop streaming. I wasn’t getting the numbers that I needed to be able to make money that way and truthfully with the setup I have to work with because of my physical issues I just don’t have the room or money to make it better in any way that it needs it. This has given me less stress since I don’t have to worry about entertaining anyone or remembering to start the stream on time when I have other things going on or I just don’t feel like it.

So, I’m going to be re-directing the energy that I was going to use on streaming towards getting my fitness levels where I want them to be… well… as close as I can get them to that level with the limitations I have. This month I am changing up how I eat so that I get more veggies without feeling like I am eating rabbit food. Changing at least one snack and one meal a day to a supplement. In this case Quest bars or the off name brand protein bars and either a chocolate flavored protein shake or Slim Fast made with cold water in a shaker. This way I am lowering my calorie intake quite a bit without feeling like I am starving to death. More veggies also means that my biggest meal of the day seems like a HUGE amount of food. Veggies are low calorie so you can eat tons more of them in a meal than anything else.

Example of my new routine so far. I wake up, take my blood sugar (today was 114), put 16 to 18 ounces of cold tap water into the shaker with one scoop of protein powder and shake vigorously, then sit down and check my email while I drink it. 2 to 3 hours later I can have a light lunch of either soup or a sandwich with turkey, tomato, lettuce, and cheese with a small amount of mayo. 2 – 3 hours after that I cook dinner. Tonight it is Chow Mein. Chicken, Mung Beans, Snow Peas, Carrot, Yellow Onion, Green Onion, Green Cabbage, a little bit of canola oil, and the Kikkoman Chow Mein seasoning mix. Then in another 2 – 3 hours I will have a Quest bar (Oatmeal Chocolate Chip). Before bed I’ll have a Pay Day bar.

The protein shake is 160 calories. The Quest bar is 200. The Pay Day bar is 260 (I think). Most of my calories for the day come from the sandwich (about 500 – 600) and dinner (never calculated it).

Since I started the routine I’ve been feeling a bit better over all and my blood sugars have settled back down from the 130s to 140s to where they need to be to be a tightly controlled diabetic without pills.

Next month I am heading over to a gym nearby to sign up for a membership. Planet Fitness. I’m hoping to get over there about 3 times a week. 2 times a week I will be lifting weights using the machines focusing mostly on my upper body and torso then once a week I will spend some time on either the Recumbent Bike or the Elliptical. When I sign up I am going to take advantage of their free fitness planning, their red light therapy booth, etc. From what a cousin of mine tells me red light therapy can help with recovery from exercise, age lines, and weight loss. She is a medical message therapist for a doctor’s office so their office uses red light therapy. I don’t know if I’ll be allowed to use the message chairs or anything like that at the gym for the moment. They might have weight limits or something but I know that the red light is a booth that I can stand in.

Anyway, that is what is going on with me… well that I want to share with the public anyway. Hope you all are doing great even with all the crap going on around the world!

Opinion: Response to Wired Article on Electric Vehicles

I read quite a few articles through out my day. Most of them I admit are because of the titles. One of the articles presented to me by Bing this morning is about a week old as I am writing this. The title is “The US Refuses to Fall in Love with Electric Cars” it is written by Chris Stokel-Walker. The article is well written but he missed an angle or two in the article that should have been taken into account when it comes to some of the reluctance for the use of EVs. While access to charging stations, cost, and mileage range are all huge factors. In most American minds there are also two other things that I can think of that can and do cause hesitation.

Number one is the electrical grid and electricity costs. Here in California we are already having issues with grid overload. Blackouts, brownouts, and scheduled rolling blackouts especially during the summer due to the lack of an updated and/or expanded grid. A perfect example of this is the last two record breaking wildfires that have been traced back to PG&E power lines. The power companies in California have been allowed to slide for decades on updating, expanding, and repairing the electrical grid. With the higher demand for what are now conventional needs to an average household adding EVs to the mix as well as all the charging stations needed to match the population of just California to the burden is showing people the horrible unstable future owning an EV will be like here. A lot of home wiring also would not be able to handle charging an electric vehicle and the costs of updating for doing so would be more than most households could afford even with state incentive programs. Add in the rising costs of electricity itself including ‘peak hours’ rate hikes and you have a recipe that makes lower income households look at EVs as something for rich people since those in higher income households can afford newer homes, utility costs, and the other expenses of EVs more readily.

The second even though the gas we use now is a finite resource so are the materials used to create EVs. Especially the batteries that are used within them. In fact unlike combustion engines that could be retooled easily to use different kinds of fuel as proven by those that have already done so to use refined cooking oils as fuel instead. The EVs are not able to use alternative resources once the finite resources for them have been depleted. On top of that the batteries can not be recycled in order to prolong the materials used to make them. Combustion engines can be melted back down at a slight materials loss to be remade into newer engine parts. The batteries used in combustion engine cars for the most part can also be recycled and made into new batteries with minimal material loss.

The truth is that EVs are a short term fix that will cause a long term problem. It would be better to encourage engineers to make engines even in the V6 and up range more efficient with less fuel, encourage people to learn manual transmissions which help with consumption, make it more important to drive the speed limits because more speed equals more fuel consumption along with more carbon emissions, and have the automobile industry as a whole look into ways to lower emissions without losing engine power by use of alternative fuels, multilevel filtering of the carbon gases within the exhaust systems, etc.

Bones Season 8

Okay, so I have been binge watching the television show Bones. I love the show. However, as I have gotten to Season 8 and through it I have noticed that the quality of the writing is deteriorating severely.

It’s like once Booth and Bones got together no one knew were to go when it came to how the show should be written so they just started making shit up. The episodes for the most part used to be 95% about the case they were working on with snippets of personal lives with episodes rotating on which personal lives where focused on. Now, the cases are almost secondary to the personal lives of the characters and almost always are something that affects them in some fashion.

They have also gotten sloppy with the major multi arc villains. My biggest bitch at the moment is Pelant. Where did this guy come from and why is he targeting Bones? All of the other ones were explained or something that she ended up tangled in because of her job. NO ONE as of episode 24 in season 8 has bothered to show why he would target her. If he is a serial killer, if he is super smart, if he is obsessed with Bones and beating her then where did all this motivation come from for that? So far all we have is that he challenged her out of the blue and when he was about to be beaten he some how weasels out of it in a way no one actually has to explain. If Pelant was going to change his identity to a foreign national he would have had to hack more systems than people seem to think he would have to for both the USA and Egypt. Erasing without a trace is easy from what I understand on hacking but creating shit and making it seem like it was always there? That is much harder and no matter how much of a genius this guy is it would have taken much longer to setup then he had unless it was something that he took years to setup just in case. And if that is the case then he had to have had it setup from before he was banned from computers because there is no way he could have used library systems to do it from the automated scanning system like he supposedly did for all the other crap.

Pelant is so dumb as a villain. It’s like they said hmm… if Bones is our Sherlock Holmes then we need a Moriarty for her to go up against. Um, MORONS! She doesn’t need that kind of thing and we as the audience don’t either. The show is just as interesting with the typical cases and character growth that was happening. She didn’t need a Big Bad to go on top of it. A Big Bad that comes from no where, has no real background story, and seems to be superhuman. Lets not forget that he somehow has access to all this technology to pull this shit off that he shouldn’t have access to for unexplained reasons.

It was one thing when she was targeted by the Grave Digger. She ended up tangled in that by accident and then on purpose because the Grave Digger decided to focus on her and Hodgins because they survived, etc. It was also a tangle up when the Gormogon started focusing on her, etc. Most of the villains in the show end up targeting Bones because of the FBI stumbling on a body that links them to her. They don’t go out of their way to say, “Look at me! Look at me! I’m smarter than you!” Also, statistically the amount of serial killers they are dealing with is crazy there are roughly less than 5k serial killers active in the USA at any one time. Bones has dealt with at least 3 so far in the show. The timeline for the show is about three to four years so far including the time where Booth went back overseas and Bones went on that dig in another country. At least that is what I assume considering the ages of the kids and the conversations that the interns have. If that is the case then running into that many serial killers is too much and having one target them from out of nowhere is ridiculous to the extreme. From what they have shared in the show he doesn’t have a history of more than ONE murder before he suddenly starts killing people to gain Bones attention.

I will say it one more time Pelant doesn’t make any sense at all in this show formula. He is able to do things that aren’t realistic for just one person to be able to do without CIA training and help, superpowers, or hack writers that don’t understand the terms plot hole or mary sue.

As much as I want to watch the whole show I don’t know if I am going to make it if the writing doesn’t improve again. It’s like the X-Files all over again. If the show formula isn’t broken then don’t experiment with it! A great example is Supernatural. They kept true to the root of the show which was the relationship of the brothers and everything else changed around that.

You want to experiment, you want to branch out, you want to do something different? Write for a different show! Write a script for your own movie or whatever don’t bring it into my shows and fuck everything up making it unwatchable!

Opinion – The Duke of Cambridge and Blue Origins

I sometimes look at news headlines when I open up my web browser to do sweepstakes entries. One of the headlines was from People magazine and in the article is an interview with Prince William the Duke of Cambridge where he slams the company Blue Origins for their space flights because in his opinion, I am paraphrasing here, we should be working on this planet and who knows what kind of carbon footprint is tied to the launches. I am going to put my opinion on all this in an open letter below. This is in no way an aggressive or hostile attack on the man just a facepalm reaction put in writing. The letter is addressed to him but I know what he is also just voicing what a lot of other people are also saying even if they aren’t well informed and I would say the same to them.

Duke of Cambridge,

If you had bothered to do any in depth research you would know that one of the biggest issues with pollution and such IS the amount of humans on the planet. If we were to send large colonies out into the stars. Ones full of farmers, laborers, as well as guards and scientists we would be lowering the population at home as we could send more people to those colonies as they became stable enough to support the numbers. Those colonies could use the science we currently have to keep their growth balanced as they go. This would lower the burden on Earth, lower the need for the extremes we have to take for food cultivation as well as industry. It would lower the need for new homes to be built and help with the various housing crises that pop up globally from time to time. It would lower the carbon emissions over time by lowering how many people are traveling daily on the planet AND it would help with the lowering of resources needed for items that are made because the colonies should be looking for alternatives to be self sustaining since we wouldn’t be able to guarantee resources to them long term!

To verbally attack something that over time could help ultimately save the planet and humanity by allowing us to spread out into the stars is ignorant to a shameful degree. It proves that you would rather be popular with the trends of society rather than actually do good for it. Research has shown that even if every first world country that was willing were to go down to zero emissions that we would still have a problem because of newly industrialized countries and places like China. That the path to getting to zero is going to cause a lot of human suffering and loss of life because the technology we currently have is insufficient to sustain the amounts of energy and such that are needed to power households let alone industry as well. Also, the materials needed to make long lasting batteries isn’t in large supply on this planet so strip mining is used to get every last ounce that they can, the batteries aren’t recyclable and they don’t break down in the landfill. So going all electric is a pipe dream sold by snake oil salesmen and the public is eating it up without doing the research. I do think that we can augment our current systems to help with efficiency but we are very far from being able to support the current population on just clean energy and the places that could do it without batteries aren’t currently willing to put in the money to build what we would need which in my opinion is ocean based hydro electric/desalination plants. The water coming in would power the hydro electric part before moving on to being processed. Then the clean water could be used for open air needs so that the evaporation would put it back into the cycle of the planet instead of keeping it out of it. The salt and other elements that are taken from the water could be used in a lot of ways from trade to home and industrial applications. We have enough technology now to keep the ocean wildlife safe from the hydro intakes so I don’t see why this technology that we have had for decades isn’t in wider use instead of focusing on Solar and Wind so much. Wind breaks down easily, has unpredictable efficacy due to the nature of wind itself and is a danger to wildlife as the large windmills have proven over time. Solar meanwhile can be efficient if the panels are kept clean, the system is made to take advantage of every angle of sun for the whole day, and you have enough batteries to help at night or on cloudy days. However, as I have stated earlier in this open letter the batteries are horrible, only last ten to fifteen years max if they are used correctly with no manufacturing flaws, and then add to the pollution issue because they can’t be recycled. They are also a finite resource due to the materials required for their manufacturing. This isn’t taking into account of course for Solar or Wind the materials used to make panels, wiring, circuit boards, chips, etc. that make them a horrible long term plan since there haven’t been any alternatives brought up in any research that I have seen or heard of on the materials used for any of those things. We will eventually run out of silver, gold, copper, lithium, etc. which means that once the systems break down with no replacement parts that we will have to go back to older methods to heat and power everyone.

In closing, I wish you well as a fellow flawed human on this planet. I just hope that over time you will learn the wisdom to keep your mouth shut until you are as well informed as you can be. There is nothing wrong with saying that you would rather not answer a question until you have done more research on the subject. It isn’t a political answer and actually shows more thought and care than you would think. Especially if you back it up by actually doing the research and telling your sources in a future interview or other media.

Sincerely,

A Commoner Yankee

Chronic Illness and Me

Most people in the world are normal and for the most part healthy. They don’t have aches and pains that never go away. They don’t have breathing issues or the ability to catch almost every virus that comes their way. I am happy for them as I would never wish my life on anyone.

Unfortunately, there are those in the world that have these issues and are never quite understood unless it can be quantified and even then it isn’t always understood by the willfully ignorant or government bureaucrats.

For those with chronic illness both diagnosed and non-diagnosed everyday chores and errands can be a dance of can I do this and should I do this? Because just because we can do something doesn’t mean we don’t pay for it later for sometimes days when we do it. I’ve had to learn to live with this over the years since I had Cancer. Don’t get me wrong. I had issues before I survived Cancer but since the treatments things have seemed to get worse both physically and mentally.

Can I go grocery shopping for the things the house needs? Is the first question. Then I ask all the tiny ones like: Am I fatigued? Does my back hurt too much? Can I get away with putting it off for a day I feel better? All these questions need to be answered before I can judge on this simple task. Sometimes even showering or taking the trash out has to be put off because I feel poorly. This causes judgement from people who don’t know my situation. They judge because my hair is dirty or because the yard around my house is unkempt not knowing that I’m not able to do these things that they deem normal, important, or necessary like they do. That I would rather not spend energy fighting back pain from various areas and trying to keep my spirits up when I would rather just go back to bed for a little while. Though laying in bed can cause pain if I do it for too long as well.

It always amazes me to watch normal people working out, working at a job, and having social interactions. It also causes a yearning. A wish that I could be normal like them. But, the knowledge that I can’t no matter how hard I try is frustrating. It isn’t because I am lazy, it isn’t because I am already overweight/out of shape, it isn’t because I don’t have the drive to change. It is literally because I can’t.

I’ll start to work out with the help of a physical therapy place only for something else to go wrong and I have to stop for a week or more. Shoulder dislocation while I was sleeping, a bad cold that messes up my breathing, a pulled muscle from something as simple as standing up to quick, etc.

I can’t work a normal job because my anxiety, stress, and over all health suffer from what is considered a normal workplace environment, office politics, social maneuvering, competition for advancement. These are all things that I can’t handle. I barely handled them before I got Cancer and when I tried to go back to work after it was hell. All the anxiety and stress caused me to get sick more often and worse than before combined with the long term effects of the Cancer treatments. This made it so that I was calling out sick more often to the point that my last place of employment stopped excepting even doctor’s notes as excuses from me for missing work or leaving early when I tried to work through being sick.

Society needs to learn to be more understanding of hidden disabilities and illnesses.

“Bring It On” – Isis

Today I ran into an article where Gabrielle Union gave an interview where she apparently regrets how she decided to handle the character of Isis. This is one of my favorite movies from my teens/20’s and to read about the actress and how she regrets not making the character more angry is irritating to say the least. You see Isis was an example to Kirsten Dunst character on how a leader should be. Strong, in control, and not afraid of confrontation when it is warranted. Isis may not have come out screaming, aggressive, and talking shit but that is what made her such a great character. The anger underneath all that control was demonstrated by the other two girls that were with her in the scene where the Clovers showed up at the game to show that the Toros had stolen their routines. It was also shown in the characters body language and clipped dialogue. In the audience we didn’t NEED to see her out of control with anger to get that she was furious and I don’t get Gabrielle Union’s stance on this now twenty years out from making the film. Oh, and the comment later about how this whole thing about stealing the routines was a commentary about cultural appropriation? That is total bullshit. Cheerleading is cheerleading regardless of race! Routines are mostly all the same with little exception or creativity unless you add gymnastics, dance moves, and martial arts into it like they do in the movie and in the big national routines in real life. Most cheer teams even at the pro level don’t really stand out when it comes to the routines they use.

Was it wrong of Big Red to steal the routines from the Clovers? Yes! Was it the fault of Kirsten Dunst’s character? No, what Kirsten Dunst’s character is at fault for is weak leadership which is actually the heroine’s journey to the film if you pay attention to it. The whole film is about Torrance and her coming of age which includes growing up, growing into her leadership of the Toros, and learning from the mistakes of others. The true overall villains in this movie were Big Red and Torrance’s beginning love interest. Big Red of course was a power hungry dictator that stole cheers from other squads, mainly the Clovers, and the love interest knew about it plus tried to continually gas light Torrance for his own self interests, mainly because he couldn’t keep it in his pants.

Because of Dunst’s genuine frustration and confusion in the scene with the Clovers I believe that Isis handling it the way she did showed that she knew who the true villain was and she wasn’t going to take it out on a patsy. After all she did give a warning at the game that Torrance needed to change things otherwise it was going to get more serious than it already was. In the end of the movie Isis sees the change in Torrance. The new confidence, the leadership skill that she had gained, etc. and respected it for the true achievement that it was. When the Toros win the competition it is out of genuine hard work and creativity in the routine and Isis respects that because Torrance showed she could change, she could control her team, and she could win on her own merit as head cheerleader.

Coming back twenty years after this film was made and this awesome classy character was created to undermine it just for the sake of what seems to be political self importance is not the sign of a classy actress. It would be about on par with Sigourney Weaver coming back and saying that Ellen Ripley shouldn’t have gotten attached to Newt because it only ended up causing her pain and was just a representation of anti-abortion which tries to control female reproduction rights. Which is total bull shit because it was that emotional attachment that ultimately gave Ripley her strength in the end to actually defeat the queen instead of just running away in the story.

Actors and Actresses need to give their all to the characters that they portray and then walk away knowing that in that moment forever recorded that they made the best out of what they were told, given, or decided to do and then let it go. Ignore others outside of themselves when it comes to the characters they portray. Seriously, the best actors and actresses in history did this. They may not always have been the highest paid or the most remembered but they were the BEST at what they did.

California Recall 2021

People in California have been trying to get a recall of Gavin Newsome on the ballot and they finally succeeded. It started well before the current situation with COVID-19, but, Governor Newsome’s actions since then have only fanned the flames of resentment towards his administration. It has only been in the last eight months that he has been seen doing something to help the state that he was elected to run. This is a tactic that a lot of politicians use because a lot of voters will remember the short term good things while the bad stuff tends to fade out.

Today I read an article (Click here to read it yourself) talking about how the recall election is unconstitutional because people who want him out get two votes while people who want him to stay get one? That logic is false. Voting to keep Governor Newsome is two votes in one. It is a vote to not recall him AND a vote showing you want to keep him as your choice in Governor. Adding him in as a candidate to replace himself is stupid. If he is recalled he is not allowed to be Governor anymore so any vote for him after that is voided since he wouldn’t be allowed to continue anyway. All this lawsuit is trying to do is gum up the vote and setup a stage for people to file legal action again IF he gets more votes than the person who is voted in to replace him. People aren’t thinking that the single ballot has two different actions on it.

First we get to vote on if Governor Newsome gets to keep his job. For those against the recall this is two votes in one as I mentioned above while it is one vote for those that want him out. THEN the second item on the ballot kicks in if the vote for recall is approved by the voters. Once that is determined the votes for the replacement become important. Don’t forget that there are candidates from all over the political spectrum on the ballot not just Republicans. If you like the Governor and don’t want him gone cool, but, in order to plan for the worst case scenario you should research and cast a vote for someone that fits what you want for California from within the list. If Governor Newsome is recalled he is being FIRED! Once someone has their employment terminated they can not continue to do the job no matter what! It is simple logic.

Wtf is wrong with people?

I play PC games mostly through Steam. I follow the Discussion Boards of games I like to play to keep track of bugs and other issues. I am going to stop doing this because it isn’t good for my emotional or mental well being.

Someone posted about a game asking if the bugs were going to be fixed. I posted that they patch the game sometimes but that the game is kind of old and that the studio has moved on to new games. Someone came in and were correcting me telling me that I was completely wrong and that the devs are still patching and working out the bugs but that there hasn’t been a patch in awhile so the next one is going to be big. I responded back pointing out that I did say that the devs patched the game sometimes and then clarified on other things that I said in more detail. Like that the people patching the bugs are most likely a small team and not the whole studio, etc. I then asked politely that next time they read what I actually said in my post. Others thought that I was attacking that person and being arrogant or smarmy. Wtf?

So, I defended myself one last time and pointed out that nothing I said was wrong especially when I clarified myself and that I wasn’t attacking anyone with anything I said. I was being as factual, and polite as I could be while I defended myself and that they are reading too much into what I say. This is on them truthfully. Tone is hard to get through in the written word unless you use emote statements like in a novel. Maybe I should start trying that so that people don’t assume using my vocabulary and manners is me trying to be arrogant, smarmy, or high handed because it isn’t. It’s me treating people the way I would like to be treated which is the way I was raised.

I don’t know how the world became where anything is considered an attack even an opinion, but, can I get off this crazy train?
